Oliver Soini talks to Immobilien Report about the challenges and future ideas surrounding GALILEO “SCIENCE CITY GARCHING”. As a lively centre, the multifunctional building combines teaching and research with communication, business and social exchange, thus forcing forward-looking cooperation between business and research. Soini also reveals in the interview with Ulrich Lohrer that he made the importance of the project of this unique location clear to the investors at an early stage, which ultimately gave the project a certain resistance to crises – such as now during the pandemic. Flexible and forward-thinking building concepts will remain a strong focus for Soini. He goes on to explain that, in addition to GALILEO, the focus is also on another variable high-tech building: “asto Mäander” in Gilching. The joint construction project with the asto Group, which is scheduled for completion at the end of 2022, is intended to help develop the area surrounding Munich into an exciting business and science location, he said.
